SPEAK BESPOKE DON'T whisper IT

Big ideas start from small ones. Personally I feel that to take a step forward in fashion we need to take a few steps back, we have to go back to the basics. My aim, for consumers is to avoid as much as possible the full on push for cheap imported and mass made marketed wear. Its about time, that bespoke wear is offered to customers with a reasonable end price range. There was a time, when such a service was available, why can it not be possible again? Take a look at what I have been able to offer local and international customers, and maybe bespoke wear and alternative purchases can make a difference for you and for general consumerist fashion. ABOUT

My background has not always been in the dress trade, in fact the last 6 years I have been working within administrative roles in office environments. However my love for dressmaking and creating beautiful items has been a passion since I was a child.

Although I am not professionally trained within a structured environment. My mother was a seamstress who taught me well in making quality garments and soft furnishings with care and attention. In recent years, due to recession, I took on work as a seamstress and advertised my services in alterations, bespoke dress and even offering to teach sewing, which I found I had a knack at. Students were pleased with my patience and knowledge in sewing, and I have to say the teaching was possibly my favourite part of the work, second to making a completed item. This work reminded me of how much I enjoyed working in this capacity and pushed myself further, by taking on bridal work and tailoring mens wear.

My aim now is to establish myself with my own business and to be able to offer clients beautifully handmade products, with fabrics that are sourced within fairer trading standards and ideally within the UK. Furthermore, many of my items have been made by sourcing vintage and rare fabrics from fairs and private sellers, due to the rarity of the fabrics, many pieces are one off designs.

I would like to be able to take on further projects, but due to working alone, the production of items are limited.

However this is my passion, and I have enjoyed working with customers on bespoke items, the one to one customer interaction is ultimately important for ensuring complete satisfaction with there purchases. I believe my work speaks for itself and I look forward to being able to establish myself in the near future.
